The Wyss name has been involved in the manufacturing
of Mobil Food Vehicles (catering trucks) for over 50 years.
The President of Wyss Catering Truck Mfg. Inc., Michael
R. Wyss,
is a second generation Catering Truck Manufacturer. He has worked
in the industry for over 30 years. Mike Wyss is noted for being a
hands on owner and is totally involved, along with the Shop Foreman
and Sales Manager in the day to day operations of the business as
well as the design of the units.
Recently I was lucky enough to spend some time at Wyss Catering Truck Manufacturing. One of the companies that has found a new group of customers. These customers are gourmet chefs, new culinary school graduates and entrepreneurs wanting to share their passion for foods of all kinds.
The featured truck is owned and operated by Claudia of Chunk-n-Chip. She was nice enough to let us photograph the truck being built and painted prior to the official launch August 28, 2010. The truck launched at the first OC Foodie Fest. The event was held at the Honda Center Anaheim, CA.
The Sales Manager is Michael Muleady, who
has been in the industry for 20 years. Along with the Shop Foreman
and the Top Leadmen of Wyss, the average years of experience for the
Craftsmen at Wyss is 15+ years.
Wyss Catering Truck Mfg. Inc. is approved
by the State of California, Department of Housing to manufacture catering
trucks.
